I have a Qsb 5.9 with 3100 hours. Recently oil started coming out the vacuum regulator this happened before and I ordered a new one which I have done now will be replacing when it arrives. Just curious how many hours do you recommend changing those or is anything I can do to prevent this

    thank you

I just needed to be sure that was the part.

Is the vent that little plastic part in front of the CCE label in your pic?

Definitely a DIY project as long as they were not too generous with the epoxy and end up cracking plastic.Ā  Even then you are no worse off.

    Thanks again

    Vacuum Regulator ??

Look atĀ  the picture–Is this what you are referring to?

    Not A QSB/Cummins part–Made by Walker Engineering and far from cheap..Ā Ā

100% cleanable/fixable / serviceable IF you are a tad hand’s-on, but Walker glues the bottom on with a 2-3 drops of clear epoxy so you need to be cleaver..Ā  Standard RH thread

Someplace on this website I have posted how-to pics on this exact subject..

walker air sep “vacuum regulater” what is it?

I recently changed the air filters on my 2006 QSB 5.9 380.Ā  In some old posts I have read mention of the “vacuum regulator”.Ā  I think I know what it is but I am not positive.Ā  My setup looks like a pic Tony posted of a wide shot of a rebuilt QSB 5.9.

    My questions are:

    Please identify the vacuum regulator?

    What is the top?

Where is the vent that can spit out oil?

    Thank you
