    Hi All,

a new boat and a first post here, recently aquired a Sunseeker Martinique, plenty of problems but one so far that I cant get my head around..

The starboard oil warning light and audible warning are both functioning when the engine is running.<br />The engine oil pressure is showing as having pressure on the guage,  however occasionally the oil warning light and audible alarm stop and the majority of the navigation equipment fails.

is there a common fault i need to know about or is it the difficult option of process of elimination?

    Thanks in advance.

    Clive

Guesswork here but you likely have  poorly made connections somewhere.   Loose nuts, screws on terminal strips or buss bars,  poor crimps on wires,  loose connections  somewhere.  Dirty corroded connection will also do this.

Go around and check.   Don’t just look at them.

Check the battery connections also.   Use a DMM to test for proper voltages at the offending devices and work backwards. Since several different devices quit  then it may be  a main + or a main- wire leading to or from the those devices  and alarms.       But you are going to have to do some checking.

    But check those connections.

I am going to add check connections at fuses including the fuse clips themselves.. I have seen the fuse clips fail to hold the fuse strongly  which could interrupt power even though there is no short circuit.

If the fuse clips don’t hold strongly then the fuse board may be poor.     I have seen these and I will name them from Sea dog.   The clips are weak and even the blister pack they are shipped in and for display hanging was enough to bend the clips.        I bought one recently and figured what the heck.  I did use it but will change it soon.  Were it not for the weak clips the board was well done.
