    Hi all
I am planning over our winter months here in West Oz to do a bit of an overhaul of the raw water side of both of my 330hp 6BTA engines while I have it apart are there any hoses that you would recommend replacing they are 14 years old and a lot of them look original , I do check them regularly (externaly) and they appear good ?
    Thanks

    HI Wayne

They dont have to be.. but I think its recommended as they hold tight and are generally well made – I have used them where I want to make sure they hold and i use them in pairs, generally.

Make sure you get the 316 Stainless ones! Oh just checked and hosemart dont carry them (was asking about some other hose) EPE in Bibra lake or online then..

    Thanks again Steve
I replaced the hoses between fuel cooler and water pump when I rebuilt the raw water pumps and I have had to replace a couple of hose clamps but until recently I didn’t know they had to be constant torque clamps but will be heading to hosemart in Wangara as suggested Monday to get them .
    Thanks again

    HI Wayne

Me again! hahaha.. The ones at 20 years old on mine that were shot were the Pump to fuel cooler ones – cracked and not very good. I got around it by replacing the fuel cooler with a length of pipe (tony sells the kits) from Couplers and I had some short fuel hoses made to the combo block (which again will be removed in the future) In honestly there are not that many pipes in the raw water section.. and most clean up nicely with a rydlyme treatment. I had a few worn ones that were rubbing against things and I had an exhaust elbow one that I destroyed trying to get off!

The air side ones are probaby checking as they split – and check the jubilee clips – they rust and break.. make a nice pop when they go. If they are standard wormdrive replace them with constant torque clamps – EPE in bibra lake do them as do I think hosemart in Wangara.. Couplers are the go to for most things hoses here but then SBMar do full kits.. which makes it easy!
