Looking to relocate the ventilation for my engine to inside the cabin. How many cubic inches of ventilation space are needed for a Cummins 6CTA 8.3 430 Diamond?

    Open Air is "Open Air"

Open air means just that…it’s not the physical size of the foot print of the vent, it’s the “flow area” that matters

    Air Ventilation Requirements

Simple Formula for most any Diesel engine = 50 sq inches of open are per 100 HP……………………..I.E. 1 sheet of typing paper is good for at a least 200HP.. Past experience over the past 30+ yrs has shown that in most cases, you can “get by” with about 30~ 50% less that most engine manufactures tell you as long as the air coming into the engine room in not “laced” with water..
