I removed the bridge from my 34 Crusader with twin 6BTAs along with all bridge controls. Engines start and run for around 1 to 2 seconds and then shut off (I assumed the secondary fuel solenoid not getting 12 volts). I checked and cleaned all grounds and wires – no luck. I then plugged the gauge panels from the bridge back into the system (where they split from the wiring under the dash) and the engines ran perfectly. My question is whether there is a simple plug I can use to either terminate or complete this electrical connection instead of having to plug the bridge panels into the system to keep the engines running.  Thanks, Kevin

Have you used a voltmeter, DMM, to check for proper voltage to activate the fuel shutoff solenoid.

It sounds like the engine does start and then quits.    When exactly does it quit?

Get, make some long leads with good clips  that will stay on the solenoid terminals so you bring the meter out to where you can watch it while starting the engine .     Watch the voltage when you try to start the engine.    It should rise and stay there untill YOU shut the engine off.

If the voltage drops after starting or when you release they key start then maybe there is a problem in the RUN position.     A short or a loss of the connection when the key is released to the RUN position.

You will have to  trace the wiring back , likely to the work you did.     Maybe you missed a wire so it is able to touch something it should not.    Maybe the key sw. is goofy.   I think I would check the key sw. first.

But yes it is all guesswork from here.        Just some hints to look at.

    Obviously an electrical issue…

All the wiring diagrams are posted on this website–

Are you trying to got to just ONE STATION?

ONLY YOU can sort it out.
