    Hi

i have two cummins 6bta 330 hp Engines. From year 1997 with 2200 hours.

starboard engine have started to leak in the back of the engine. Looks like oil/water, not sure.

Could this be headgasket? Engine runs well, oil and water is good.

hope it is not urgent, so I can drive the boat this summer.

    check valve

Have a look at the airsep checkvalve, if it hasn’t been serviced and the system is blocked oil will be forced out of the breather (red arrow) the checkvalve will located in the blue return line to the sump.

    That is a coolant passage.

Hi. Did some cleaning today, and started the motor. Let it run untill hot, But no leaks to see.

one question. It looks like something could come upp inn red marked area. What is going inside this part?

    Hi Tony

    Thank you for your reply.

i did a cleanup of the engine some days ago. After a weekend trip with about 4 hours running at 2200 to 2400 rpm, this was the result.

i will try clening up again, and look after a short trip.

looks like it builds up with some sticky oil just in the back of the head. Between block and head. 🤔

You are not going the find the leak or leaks unless you get al all clean & then,  keep it all very clean and put cut diapers in selected spots and then monitor all closely after each trip..

What you posted is weeks / months since the last clean up.
