Cost for work done on a boat at the boat can not be discussed in any useful manner on a public forum because every boat is different and every shop/tech has it’s own billing schedule. This is a totally different animal than taking a car to the dealer for scheduled maintenance.

As to “1,000 hours” …. the only thing that is so driven by the hourmeter would be the valve lash adjustment. Get that done. All else is by the “Calendar Meter” and that is especially true for the recreational boater who might average a couple hundred hours in a season. The Calendar Meter never stop ticking….

Marine Age, Aftercoolers, Engine Loading (Fuel Burn vs RPM Tracking), Exhaust Design, SeaWater Pumps, etc. Those are the things that are discussed here day in and day out and those are things that really matter.
