Have pulled both 6BTA engines for a general overhaul due to blowby.

While researching rebuild kits I found that there are Machined conrods before 2003 and Fractured conrods after.

What is the actual difference between the rods and how to check what I have?

Engine serial numbers are 44548566 and 44558483

I have only seen “fractured” rods on B series engines.. That means the rod caps cannot be mixed up, reversed, etc .

When to take them off, you can see it as the surfaces are irregular.
