Crested a tool out of necessity to remove stubborn 6CTA aftercooler cores and to put the spring back in heat exchanger endcaps. Buy a 4” pvc coupler. It’ll be a tad too big for the aftercooler housing. Use a circular saw or mitre saw or table saw and make one pass through it. Now when you squeeze it together it’s the perfect diameter if you need to use force with a block of wood to drive the aftercooler core through until the ends clear the tight part of the core. Also right diameter to use as the pounding block for the heat exchanger endcap refurbish technique. That’s all I got.
