6BTA 370 — New CCV & Blowby

Hey All,

I need some advice here. I finally got around to installing the new CCV system today. I noticed that blowby was coming out of the filter toward the valve cover.

This particular engine also has a marginal valve cover gasket and might have been overheated by the previous owner. There is an occasional drip at WOT RPM at the corner of the gasket (you can barely see the blue above the air filter in the picture – this is after 50 hours).

The engine runs great other than that.

I looks like I getting blowby through the breather at any RPM under load. Do I even need that breather, or should I bypass it with new tube?

Thanks, It was at the dock, similar results from idle to 2K rpms. Will run it over the weekend.

At an idle in neutral at the dock?

If so, take the engine for a run and then peek at it once above 1400 RPM or so, all the way up to cruise RPM’s….

Report back and then we can discuss the “adjustability” of the the Envirovent CCV system as to “tuning it” to your engine..
