so far we removed the motor plug to the gauges, found some corrosion in the pins, cleaned them, have a lose pin, going to tighten that next – when the gauges go out we lose the oil pressure, volts, tach and fuel flow stops recording usage – motor has Smartcraft gauge cluster – replaced the Cummins Marine Harness SmartCraft V1.0 “Medusa” – replaced Cummins Mercury SmartCraft Tachometer Harness 84-879979T1 – replaced Cummins Mercury SmartCraft 6-Way Junction Box – problem is back but spotty – sometimes gauges don’t go on at all, sometimes they work for a few hours and go out – any thoughts?

Check the power supply , the 12VDC and its grounding.Ā  Often the actual 12V power is Daisy chained from guage to guage.Ā  Ā  Ā If those connections are poor then thenĀ  none of the guages CAN operate properly.Ā Ā

Cary on with the signal wire connection checking , sure, but be sure the guages CAN do their jobs.

The fact that all of them are doing it together would indicate to me that the 12V and grd. are more likely even though you found someĀ  bad connections.
