Cummins in a Stamas

Bob, was that engine in a Stamas 32? I had one with 454s and the the hatches in the salon all opened up with lots of room to get around the engines. I know the Cummins is larger, similar in size to the 6lp, so if that is in a Stamas 32 sport fisherman than it is a tight fit. I’ll see if I can get pictures of the yanmar installation.

For Tony. Your observation interesting regarding the 6lp. I know there were valve seal issues-don’t know if this one is subject to that, and know there are 850 and 1200 maintenance requirements as well. If I were near you, so you could do my maintenance that would be great, but I’m in the panhandle of Florida and Yanmar support is something else. I had two boats with yanmars, one was the 4cyl 170 and the other was the 4 cyl 230. They did pretty good for me but, all things considered, I am reluctant to take on the 1100 hour 6lp.
