Helm Pumps, Steering Rams and ZF Transmissions often have some less common threads identified as PT, G or JIS These are all based on British Pipe threads and can be straight or tapered. Some examples below.
BELOW: PT Threads are the same as BSTP: British Standard Pipe thread. 55Ā° Thread angle. Tapered Pipe Threads.
These look like NPT but they aren’t compatible with NPT due to the different 55Ā° thread form.
