RectorSeal® No. 5® pipe thread sealant is a soft-set, slow drying compound which seals, lubricates, and protects threaded pipe and fittings. Our testing in Marine applications for over 30 years as a general purpose thread sealant & lubricant for most any bolted application, rubber hose lubricant & sealer, corrosion preventer and sealant between two metal surfaces in a moist marine environment has made this product  our main “assembly lube product” choice to  assemble that various parts that are found on a marine engine.. When BLACK is preferred (like with coolant hoses on an engine), use RectorSeal® No. 21 as it has the same great properties of RectorSeal #5.
