Best impellers on the market. You canât go wrong for service of use. I canât vouch for storage inside a pump, but in my opinion you should never store impellers inside a pump for more than a month.
I run a tour boat 365 days a year, 4-5 trips a day.
The 4BTA runs 8 hours each day non-stop. The two 6BTAâs run 4-6, 90 minute trips a day with 20-30 minutes in between. All 3 motors use M-71 Sherwood pumps.
We run a âKeel cooledâ system. This means the motors will be running happily at 180 degrees with just the fresh water pump, while the raw water impeller is toast. This allows the rubber exhaust hose to actually melt without the capt. knowing…I never slept well until I used these impellers. I change every other oil change (350-400 hours) and never seen one with more than a ripped vane.
Btw Iâve tried different flow systems and thermocouples on the exhaust elbow, but nothing compares to having a good, quality part doing its job.
