All engine mounts come with a small tube of Metalube grease for a thorough “Top-to-Bottom” greasing of the stud threads and washer faces & under the mounts

SMX SILVER Mounts fit (but are not limited to) the following engine packages (packages in the 3000-7000+ weight class):

CAT C-18, CAT 3196, Cummins 855/N-14, Detroit Series 60, Scania D13 & D16, Volvo D12, TAMD122/165, MAN, MTU, YANMAR, Baudouin, etc.

Description

SMX SILVER Specialty Vibration Isolator Overview

The first truly “automatically tune-able elastomer compound” and fully “rebuildable” Marine specific engine isolator to meet the needs of modern high speed diesel light weight engines used in marine applications.

These were specifically designed isolators to fit not only many Cummins Heavy Duty range engines but all other marine diesel engines in the 500-1000 HP class with total engine / transmission weights totaling 5,000 to 7,000+ lbs.

These were our first concerns on our list of new design features we wanted to address. But along the way, we were also able to  accomplish the following improvements:

The base frame is stronger in overall strength in all failure mode testing. This is due to the use of heat treated A356-T6 aluminum in a low pressure casting process vs. A380 die cast material that is used for high production die cast parts (Usually to lower the overall production cost).
We also increased the “beef” in the two high stress areas to ensure a stronger mounting base more tolerant to irregular mounting surfaces & angles. This is to properly mitigate the additional stresses encountered in marine applications, especially due to newer high power densities we have not seen in the same sized engines prior.
We addressed the “STUD”… And after testing our competitors studs from other companies & reviewing over 2 decades of field experience, we settled on a Grade 12.9 Quenched & Tempered, Alloy Steel rolled to Class 2A specs & then baked the studs to remove any possible Hydrogen Embrittlement after plating. Although it was the more expensive choice, it was worth it to us.
Then we have our “Marine Tuff” coating using a proprietary E-Coat finish on top of TYPE 3 hard anodization resulting in a superior saltwater resistant finish.

And the best part of it all is…………We assemble these mounts to our specs right here Oxnard, California to ensure we are offering the best of all to our valued customers. And, we offer at no charge, ideas and pictures showing how you can use these mounts in “double” extra heavy duty applications that would normal use RIGID MOUNTING.

ENVIRONMENTAL DATA

Synthetic Chloroprene elastomer has an operating temperature range of -20°F to +180°F (-30°C to +85°C) and is resistant to oils, salt spray, ozone and oil-based solvents.
