October 31, 2019 at 4:15 pm Having a hard time getting these hoses air tight after having disconnected them to remove the AC’s. The stainless steel bands are as tight as I can get them (actually worried there is too much tension on them frankly). In anyone’s experience, do these hoses take on a form of their own over time such that upon reconnecting, they just don’t seat exactly as they did before disconnecting. When I get back up to 2000+ RPM, I can f…
4 RepliesNovember 1, 2019 at 10:35 am Thanks Tony. The flange connection is air tight and no issues there. Its just the hose connection with those constant torque clamps that is giving me some grief on only the one aftercooler. The other engine, all is good and well. I will fiddle some more with it and apply rectorseal as well which I did not do initially. As usual, thanks for the tips. Tom

October 14, 2019 at 3:00 pm In the attached diagram, there is a ring between the two O-rings (#11). I’m not familiar with what that ring is so any help would be appreciated. My aftercoolers are on the bench now at a local shop as I could not get the cores out on my own. I just want to have all the required parts upon my reassembly of them. I do have the O-ring kits and more than enough lube from seaboard. Thanks, Tom

Zeus Pod – Hydraulic Filter Assembly
This topic has 4 replies, has 2 voices, and was last updated by 6 years ago
April 25, 2017 at 11:07 am Perhaps someone in the forum has done this or can offer general guidance on the install. I’m replacing a high pressure hydraulic filter assembly which is currently weeping a small amount of hydraulic fluid. Ā Appears to be coming from the housing threads (the filter assembly comes in two halves, an upper and lower). Ā Couple of questions since I cannot locate a service manual for this. (1) Is is okay to use a thread sealant like Rector seal …
4 RepliesMay 22, 2017 at 7:33 pm The high pressure part of a hyd system can be tough to deal with in some cases when it come to very small leaks / sweats, etc.. .. We always use some type of sealant or lube, but it’s far from “one type fits all”. Some types of fittings need anaerobics, some need special pipe dope, and other just need some light grease. When o-rings are involved, it usually just comes do to a light coating of grease as the “O-Ring”…

April 24, 2017 at 3:28 pm Tony et al – Installed and used the envirovent system on my QSB’s and was a big fan of them. Ā Is there an Envirovent system for the QSC’s? Tom
3 RepliesMay 4, 2017 at 7:39 pm This a the “factory” system but it’s really not a CCV system.. It’s “idea” is to vent the Ā “crankcase blowby gases to a low pressure areas” near the air cleaner……………………….We have done a few custom Envirovent systems for the QSC, but until you have a “messy” issue that your want to mitigate, I’d let it be..
