July 17, 2018 at 8:56 am Recently had two Cummins long blocks installed in my 46 Maxum. Also had block heaters installed but did not change out the original intake air heater circuits. Shortly after starting to use the boat I began having voltage discharge issues. It was traced to one air heater ECM’s not working properly. Purchased two complete heater circuits from you a short time ago, because when I sell it I wanted the engines to be complete. I personally do n…

July 17, 2018 at 2:25 pm Russ, If the “factory heater circuitry is functioning properly and has not been modified, then pulling the small fuse will disable the heater grids regardless of a “light” that I am not familiar with… The fuse controls a solenoid coils that are on the ECM plate–No fuse = no solenoid pull-in= no current to the heater grids ( big wires) .. Strobe tach showed 50 rpm difference from boat tach. After about 3 minutes at full throttle there was a large bang. Mechanic was in the bilge and I at the upper helm. Brought throttles…

August 19, 2017 at 9:01 am Coming back I ran the engines up to 2700 RPM and after a few minutes the port engine quits. Close to home so go back on one engine. Mechanic comes down we start port engine runs fine, we change fuel filters, and go for sea trial. All is fine at WOT for a couple of minutes and 2800 for 15 min. When we got back noticed coolant under engine. Went back and found a small crack in head back by aft fuel injector. Had minimal lost coolant year ago, cou…

October 1, 2017 at 11:54 am Thanks Tony appreciate all your advise. I am going to sell the boat this spring and will fix the engine rather and wait and be told to do it or loss a sale. Looking at a 52 or 56 Carver hopefully with Cummins instead of Volvo. Regards, Russ Keyes
