    • ONAN MDKAL Voltage Regulator Potting Resin Melting

This topic has 4 replies, has 5 voices, and was last updated bynigel.platt27 1 year ago

January 17, 2022 at 3:09 pm I have ONAN MDKAL 3386107specB s/n L990032228. It is 12v DC-supplied. It runs fineā€¦.. but, The voltage regulator potting resin is melting and leaking from the control box. Other than the mess, because it still runs OK, can I just continue as it is? My ONAN parts manual makes a distinction between the spec A and spec B voltage regulators. The spec A is ā€œSRAā€ whereas the spec B is ā€œAVRā€ but each has the same part number = 305-0896. My voltage re…

March 14, 2023 at 3:53 pm Not limited to MDKAL it would seem, I have a MDKAB in I would suggest is a well enough ventilated installation ( albeit this is in Australia ). Its a crappy problem to deal with ( I kept resting my arm on it.. GRRRRR!!!! ) I scraped the bulk of the goo off and the remainder removed with an organic cleaning spray – relatively easy. Generator is not used regularly ( has been in the past ), so immediate heat in the vicinity may not have been …

    • Alarm Volume Too Low – Add Another Buzzer?

This topic has 6 replies, has 4 voices, and was last updated byTony Athens 5 years ago

January 11, 2019 at 10:36 am On B CPL 2208 the alarm buzzer audio volume on the electronic module is too low to draw attention when U/W. I’ve attached the wiring diagram for the panel. The module is easy to understand the inputs, but it isn’t clear where one could tap in to add an external noisemaker [low amperage load]. For sure I’d prefer to have the indication sound for all 4 failure actuations.

May 31, 2017 at 12:21 pm These panels [370HP Diamond CPL 2208], have a loose circuit board associated with each engine panel at each control station. An alarm buzzer is part of each board. The ‘workings’ of this board tion. The ‘workings’ of this board are a mystery to me as I can’t find documentation. According to the first attachment the volt meter has purple [ignition] on one side and purple/black thru the low volt LED thence to a two w…

October 29, 2017 at 12:36 pm This may also add to the understanding of the factory system…………..The PCB boat IS NOT needed for all the instrument to work properly. In fact, on a properly working system, the PCB can be removed from the panel and all of the instrument will operate as they should.. The PCB BOARD is there for one reason only–To have an “vital sign alarm system” for the engine.. It basically reads the return signal from t…

May 21, 2017 at 9:35 am I have SEABOARD’S PCV-SYSTEM on my B 370hp Diamonds. On one engine the puke bottle fills after about 15 hrs at 1400 RPM over several days . NO higher RPM. The other engine only has about 1 inch in the bottle. What’s up?
