Boat is a 35 foot Terry Jason downeast lobster boat. Dimensions- 34′-10” long, 13′ beam (tapers to 10′-6″ at transom),
draft 3′-4″. Weight: Trying to keep it around 16,000 lbs. Capacities: 16 gross tons, 160 to 200 gal fuel, 50 gallons water 20 gallons
black water holding. Will have a small 12 volt dc generator. Use will be recreational, coastal cruiser and some fishing.
Will mostly be the wife and I most the time and occasionally family and friends outings. Probably put about 250 hours on it
in a good year. No fly bridge.

As far as what Terry puts in for engines they run the gamut. Anywhere from 370HP Yanmars
to 500HP 8.3 Cummins. The larger engines go mostly for the Lobster guys and charter boats that put a ton of hours on per
    year.

The reason I went with the 6.7 425HP originally was there was a charter boat that had a 350 Cat 3126 rated 2800RPM I spoke to and
    he said his numbers with 8 guys on board were as follows- 2000RPM = 15KTS, 2200RPM = 17KTS, 2600RPM = 21KTS
I don’t know what he had for gear and prop. My initial research revealed that the Cat engine pretty much matched the
performance curve for the 6.7L Cummins. The 8.3L isn’t a good fit, in my opinion, in this hull due to some vulnerabilities in the exhaust
system. I would also like to put a water lift muffler in but that is a subject for another thread.

-Oil Pan Heater: good to go

-I have attached the label for the engine (see pic) Gear is ZF 280A 2:1 with a 2″ Aqaumet shaft

    – What I would be trying to accomplish would be more speed if it would make fiscal sense. I was told by a Cummins
dealer (not the one I bought the engine from) that the 6.7 425 HP version would push the boat at 15 or 16 knot cruise
WOT should be 20 Knts . I am building as light as possible and would actually be happy with that if it can be achieved.
As the boat is currently being fitted out I can’t give any data as far as current cruise speed.

Let me know if you need anything else.

    Dave
