I had 2 x turbos have a crack in between bolt holes. Exactly the same place made me think it was a casting flaw.

Wouldn’t it more economic to take the current prop down to 27 and re balance them?

Look up AHM fabrication. They did a set for me for a couple of Volvos. Def not worth the stuffing around for the cost.

Not sure if it a the same, but on a engine that sat for a few year. Ive had the ceramic HP fuel pump plungers lock up before on a QSC if its the same pump? I don’t believe that Cummins call it a serviceable part?

On 2nd look this may be a 2500rpm fuel curve and a 2585 max over speed rating.

Isn’t the engine only meant to get 2600rpm?
Do you get 2600 on flight rev in idle?August 18, 2021 at 3:33 pm #119593

I found a way. Not the right way..
Data link-program. I even found a way to turn of the broken Wif sensor on the old ecm I replaced. So deep down I could have not bought a 2nd hand ecm and paid Cummins to recalibrate it. I would have been 1 k better off this way at the beginning.November 25, 2020 at 6:19 am #107103

Thanks Tony,
I remember seeing on one of the posts they stopped at 9999. The upgrade is on the list but the current has not died yet.
I found a setting in the insight download sheet that came with the ecm with engine hour offset? Do you know anything about this?cheers Luke

I did about 20L on a QSC the other day and it was about right.
I just went till the drum was full. I pulled a hose off and when it was below the turbo I knew I was ok.September 29, 2020 at 4:07 pm #104551

Hi Rob,
Mine have a lot more hours than yours. One side is original at 5700 hrs so a bit over the 4000 hrs line Cummins suggest.I would think the reman should be cheaper. The price I got was cheaper and in AUD. I was direct to the local Bosch dealer, so not from Cummins in any way. I would think the new one will have no better warranty than a reman.
Logically the only used part in reman would be the housing they should replace all the internals?
cheers Luke

In a way I was hoping you would say you have seen it.
Yes they are 2006 540’s propped to below 490 to meet shaft survey limits.
Pt aftercooler was done a month ago, stb is on the list for this week.Il try and get some better pics today.

Not hijack the thread but. I have been told my smart craft v1 has done a similar thing. It has always had no major issues.
So I am not there and it was working when I last saw it..
It did the same as Steve posted. They then some how the got to calibrate but only the pt engine and it does not recognize the stb at all when the key is on. They say they have tried to reset sensor detection and do a factor reset with no luck. They must have got a partial factor reset as they are in Fahrenheit not celsius.Power has been off to the ECM and smart craft for a few hours as well.
So other than they cant follow the calibration if there any other tips? They have the analogue displays so not all is lost.

I assume the CTA is different? But I did a similar thing when I missed the spacer when swapping starter motors on a QSC.

Its been a while.. But the coolant alarm should go to the low oil pressure switch( round cylinder about a inch long). It should be at the rear of the V on the head.

The 3208 has low coolant volume, high temp and low oil pressure as part of the standard wiring harness? You want more?
