October 1, 2020 at 12:25 pm #104648Im giving serious consideration to adding your smx instrument pack. I noticed a refeeance to identifying the version of smart craft.
Is there a clear identifier ?
September 30, 2020 at 4:29 pm #104619Thank you Cory, good information. I have a single qqsc 8.3 and cummins branded glendening control head. That doesent mean there is some gremlin causing the ECM to have complications.
Do you know if the engine can be operated with the SIM disconnected. It could be a good test to see if insite was able to run cylinder lock out test.
Thanks for your interest.
September 30, 2020 at 8:00 am #104594Thanks for the reply. Good analogy for the confusing comms. Do i understand correctly that the sim and smart crap display some how is influencing the ECM functionally.
I was under the impression that the SIM was reciving engine data and sending it along to the display.
Does the SIM interact with the ECM other than in a read only way ?
Thanks….been chasing this ghost for months.
September 29, 2020 at 7:17 pm #104560Its a smart craft system. Cummins has advised me that my engine’s base code does not support tthe cylinder cut out test function. No reason given as to why. They are writing a custom program to support the cut out test. I’m surprised that there would be ecm that would not support
The cut out test. Can the mercury smart crap SIM be interfearing ? Engine was built in 2004.September 29, 2020 at 1:04 pm #104534Greetings, im in the throws of deciding on a new set of injectors. Havent made a decision yet.
Local cummins service had suggested reman units but they only have a 1 year warantee. For the price i would expect more. Dont like the idea of doing it again in the near future.I only have 1100 hrs on them and no signs of have picked up bad fuel. Seems like its too soon fir replacing injectors.
A local trucking company sells reman injectors for $ 550. Ea. I havent priced new yet.
Is this in line with your knowledge of cost ?
May 11, 2019 at 11:26 am #69254I can agree with your comments. First time servicing AC core so your comment is much appreciated.
May 11, 2019 at 4:52 am #69237Hi, I belive the difference between the two is the origional Sherwood is threaded with 3/4 fine to help extract the old impeller. The replacement from seaboard has a dog cast into the face to allow a purpose built puller to enguage with these dogs and remove the impeller.
The splines which should be the same on each impeller.

May 9, 2019 at 4:51 am #69110Thanks, I will give them a call.
May 9, 2019 at 4:49 am #69109Thanks, I should have been more spacific. The part I’m trying to identify is the small clips used to hold the SS tubes into the various heat exchangers. I can clean these up but fairly rusty. Replacing with new is preferred.
