I would like to install the SMX Gear Low Oil Pressure Alarm Switches on my ZF 220A transmissions. Where is the best location to install them. I see two locations on your web-site from pressure sensing of the transmission/gear pressure gauges/sensors (see attached pictures).

If you use both stations regularly than you should have alarms at both.

    Ordered!

    Thanks Corey & Rob,

Just ordered the sensors with the tapped steel fittings from Seaboard. Stupid question: where should I run the sensor wire to get an audible alarm? I have dual helms (flybridge & cabin). Would want to hear an alarm in both locations.

    Best

I agree with Corey. Your second picture of the Sendure cooler is my install on my boat. Easy enough & rock solid. If you can’t do the fitting drill & tap you can order from Seaboard. Steel fittings, no brass. JB Weld on the switch threads, Rectorseal on the fittings into the cooler body. Good time to upgrade your coolers if needed.

I personally like installing the switches / senders at the cooler itself. Just makes access and overall visibility of the devices better (That way no one steps on something they shouldn’t…)
