    Does anyone know what the thread size is for the oil drain plug on a ZF 220a gear box?

    Not the answer you want———-A proprietary ZF Thread…….. If this is because you want to install as oil drain line, then drill and tap the plug for a 1/4″ NPT thread and go from there..
