I have to say I’m impressed…..new to us 1999 Albin express trawler with twin 6BTA engines. Previous owner installed these heaters on the sides of the oil pans….access to the bottoms would be nearly impossible. We’re supposed to get some freezing weather this week so I turned them on Sunday…..went down today (monday) to check on them. Used an infrared thermometer and the coolest part of the engines were 65 degrees…..obviously warmer the lower I went. The whole engine room was about 60….outside temp was about 40……I like this product!

If I remember right they were about 160-170 right at the pad……I will check on it this weekend and post here.

    How hot do they get?

I can’t even touch mine and read around 3-350 degrees.  Is that even close to correct?

    Curious, thanks.

We like them too…………Very “soft heat” and if they are the 250W units, they are very safe for 24-7-365 use.
