transmission fluid leaking from filter cap

Hi ! I have two 1991 Hurth ZF 63A in my Wellcraft 33 Sports bridge on the back of 7.4 Bluewaters. I’ve tried tightening the filter covers that have large O-rings on them. I cleaned them good, and they still leak once and a while, making a mess in the bilge and oil sox. I’ve just ordered two new filters and O-rings, and will try that. Just not sure why it keeps happening !!???? Help ! Bob – In Boston !

Could you be over filling and causing excess pressures.. Run at the low mark on the dip stick.. How to properly read your dip stick in of this site..
