I have a 2007 Cummins QSL9 with a SmartCraft DieselView display. I would like to replace it with a slightly newer vessel view display. Is this an easily doable thing? Would it matter what the vessel view screen came off of?

I am sure swapping the smart craft system for the newer types is the best possible option. That said all I wanted to do was have a display I could see more clearly from a bit of a distance away, looking threw the window into my wheel house while hauling lobster traps. My motor is a 2007, right around when they swapped from diesel view to vessel view so I took a gamble that vessel view would work and it seems it did.

Thanks everyone for the help, I am sure I will be on here plenty to learn all the finer details of QSL9 ownership

    DieselView to VesselView Upgrade

It would be doable, but you need to find one 1st.. But you also need to looks at your SIM vintage.. SMART CRAFT is an ever changing system with close to zero real support.. Cummins completely has walked away from it, and seems to me, Mercury is of zero help..

Spend some time on our web site reading about current “viable options”….It’s all there .

If you need some “one-on-one” after spending some time reading, drop Corey a note at [email protected]

He speaks this language like no other.

But still, posting here with your questions is much better for all involved–That way, all is shared as it should be.
