My 2006 Sea Ray Starboard QSM 11 w 1978 hrs has developed some sort of leak at the transmission cooler bracket. It is not slick like oil. It is coming out of bolt that holds the transmission cooler to the engine. Pictures are attached. Engine oil levels stay the same. Transmission oil level remains same.

Any idea what problem is and fix?

    Thanks

    Rob

    Another update. Help

I have been looking for source of the leak around transmission cooler and discovered that water was dripping from a missing bolt on the engine. The picture attached is not from ,y engine but a post from someone else. The bolt missing is the one in the corner. The bolt hole goes All the way through the the base of the other picture attached. I can see the bolt hole through when looking between the block and t he bracket that holds the heat exchanger to the engine. I have observed a little water in the pan that the bolts are holding to the engine. It is a very slight drip though that bolt hole. It seems the bolt is just there to hold the pan in place. Mechanic says if we can get a bolt in there it should stop the leak. I’m just curious as to where the water might be coming from. There is not enough water in the pan to rise high enough to come through bolt hole. No water is coming from turbo. We checked O ring coming out of heat exchanger that runs parrellel to the engine block along the top. Nothing. Only happens under load. Can’t get water to drip at idle or high rpm not under load. Where else should I look for water source.?
    Thanks

    Update and Thanks

Just an update. I cleaned it up and have WWM for 2 good runs. At this point, it is not showing up. Plan on getting full service done in a few months of Aft Coolers, Heat Exchangers, Oil Coolers, Fuel Coolers so will take a much closer look then. Thanks again for your help.

No expert but this was a soot leak "drip"

This wet looking mess was on my oil cooler bracket and initially led me to believe I had an oil leak. My mechanic determined it to be soot combined with humidity driving down fron the manifold and drying on the bracket.

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure what WWM means. Assume Watch, Wait, Monitor. There was a mechanic on docks today and he agreed to take a quick look. He basically said same thing. Clean it up and monitor it. Didnt seem to think much to worry about at this time. But keep an eye on it. Plan on having aftercooler, heat exchangers, etc serviced Jan/Feb and will most likely address at that time.

    Rob,

It looks like coolant sludge from an old engine that has dried.. I know that description does not fit your engine.. I’d spray it all with WD-40 , clean well, and WWM..
