I am between buying either a 2005 or a 2006 sundancer, both with Qsb 380s
I was told they didn’t have the quiet idling common rail fuel system until 2006.
Is there any difference in these engines? I can’t find anything to support this claim
This would be my first diesel boat

    William,
You can’t ask for a better “team” that what you have here – guys that know those engines inside and out and a prior owner of that exact boat who was 100% on top of his game in making everything “just-so”………. Let us see what you are looking at.

I owned a 2005 Searay Sundancer 390 with QSB’s. Happy to answer any Q’s you may have surrounding that specific boat with those
    engines.

Sold it a few months ago with 1080 hours.

    Learning the QSB 5.9

Interesting “info” you received – unless they meant that in that era you could have a Mechanical B or a QSB… who knows.

Good luck in the process and post pics of your contenders.

Anyway… below is some schooling on the QSB5.9 – don’t miss the “Learning..” tab.

    QSB 5.9

The QSB 5.9 was first released in 2004 and all have a super quiet common rail fuel & combustion system.. You are getting very bad information..
