2 rusty motor mounts from previous leaking seawater pumps on qsb 5.9’s. What is the best way to replace without disturbing alignment. Physics tells me I can remove one and nothing will move but want to make sure. Is there a better way? Block engine etc? Thanks in advance.

Every engine/boat/installation is different. Most require a jack or chain lift of some sort to remove weight from the mount and raise engine to replace mounts. I usually use blocks of wood and a small bottle jack.

But I guarantee any method you use WILL REQUIRE engine alignment. You can get it close by measuring engine mount heights but it will need to be adjusted the final bit once installed.
