    when the 6cta engines crank it seems as if the first 1/4 turn of the crankshaft is slow, then it speeds up and starts instantly. What is the recommended MCA for the batteries?

    More than likely a weak connection in the starting circuit & not the battery CCA’s. I’d start there– Every end of each battery cable removed , cleaned shiny and greased ( white lithium) and then put back together, TIGHT. Don’t forget the battery switches & all grounds
