MAN DO836LE401 450 hp rated @ 2600 rpm

Hello,

BillD from the Cummins side of the forum. Well, owned a pair of Volvo 41P 200 hp for a couple of years.

OK, my question/s?

I’ve been perusing some mid 2004-2008 boats and came across some diesels I’ve never seen, studied, nothing.

The MAN 450 hp @ 2600 rpm. I think the engine came out in 2002 ? No longer produced.

Anyone have any experience with this particular model MAN ?

Have had a couple in my shop over the years and played with some years back when I was walking the docks with 2 x 30 lbs tool bags… Basically, I have no use for marine engines that “parts & support” are impossible or the $$ is in outer space.. …
