Great fuel cooler removal article Brendan!

I have that massive QSM cooler which means it’s almost impossible to change the impeller. I’d love to remove it for both simplicities sake as well as adding the ability to change the impeller in an emergency.

How would I go about analyzing whether I can or cannot remove the cooler? In simple terms, I have to deal with a 48 hr trip, raw water temp at 165 for the entire trip and a 5-6 hr cruise home at 19 GPH/1875 RPM with a fuel tank getting down below 33%. I don’t know how to figure out whether it’s safe given my use profile to remove it.
