I just installed your exhaust temp guage on the yanmar 4jh3-hte. I’m reading near 80 degrees celsius on the coolant temp and 350 degrees Fahrenheit when warmed up.

engine runs fine but some very light white smoke at idle and throughout rpm. also tiny bit of sheen in the water.

    Is 350 too low?

If so how do i increase exhaust temp?

note: could it be location of probe? see picture.

You’re a brave man (with quality cleats and dock lines) !

Would be good if egt stayed in that neighborhood. Keep us posted.

I have a lot to learn. i finished the install and started the engine and put the boat in gear and ran it to about 2600 rpm at the dock and the exhaust temperature shot up to 780! and the boost was around 7-8.

I didn’t want to go higher at the dock but will give it a test run soon.

what temp should i be looking for?
