Hi, I need to replace my 6 inch rubber exhaust hose. Any tips? Can I use some sort of lubricant to help the hose slide on without helping it slide off?

Use the graphite gasket sold here. Block sand the face of the turbo outlet to clean it up. Gasket can go dry. High temp RTV silicon never hurts, especially if there are imperfections left in the mounting face. Anti-seize lube on new mounting bolts.

Thanks Tony. While I am there I am going to pull the elbow off and inspect the turbo. Apart from a new gasket, do you recommend any sort of sealer at the turbo to elbow joint?

We prefer Recorseal #5 for all hose connections– Exhaust, coolant, water and most fuel connections.. You can be very liberal with exhaust hoses.. Best way to clamp in the link.

Proper Technique for Clamping Exhaust Hose

To get off the old, a screw driver and WD-40 to lube between the hose and the tube or pipe. Just work it around the perimeter.
