Having a bit of an issue with replacement of a stop solenoid.
Long story short, my stop solenoid went out and I ended up somehow losing the bracket on the injection pump that goes with it. This is on an older 6BTA Nippon Denso fuel injection pump. I couldn’t find an original replacement bracket so I used the newer style bracket (ball snap) and replaced the solenoid with 3922680. Now the engine starts but immediately stops. The solenoid pull releases once the start position on the 3-pos toggle switch is released. Is this a wiring issue with the switch or? The old solenoid/switch operated fine before.

    Original Solenoid: 3921978
    Replaced solenoid with: 3922680

    Thanks for any input!

Real simple………..Your wiring is not right..

If it starts while in the crank mode and then shuts down, the ignition/hold circuit is not connected correctly……..Very simple to trouble shoot.

    Go here:

Search “solenoid” ( Ctrl + f) and you’ll have all you need to sort it out.. At least 3 articles applicable to your issue & your wiring, and how it works.
