I have a 2011 searay sedan bridge with QSM11s. I am getting a fault code 422 sensor coolant level. Looks like this is a Cummins ECM code and not a smartcraft code. Do these motors have coolant level sensors? If so where is it located? If there are no coolant level sensor then how do I clear this code? Can it be done through smartcraft or does it need to be done through Cummins ECM?

    Thanks for your time.

    Coolant Level Sensors

For the future————-All of of instrument readings, codes, etc. that you read on your Cummins/Mercury VesselView Display are “re-transmitted/re-interpreted & messed with” by the Mercury Smartcraft electronics on your engine..

Glad you got it sorted out. In general, coolant level sensor on all of the “Q” engines have been less than trouble free compared to things like Oil Pressure or coolant temp sensors…

Thanks Larry. I checked it out online and found the sensor on Cummins Quickserve. I am going to see if I can source it from Cummins Northeast so I can change it out this weekend and see if it solves my fault code.
    I appreciate the help.

Low and act on heat exchanger

Iā€™m not at my boat but the sensor is low and aft on the H/x. I seem to recall a shei odd wire coming out of it.

I got that code once, shut down and found 4 gallons of antifreeze in my bilge courtesy of my hot water heater loop.
