    Hi Guys,

I have a 270 6BTA I bought that was in pieces I am putting back together.

Where is the location of the secondary fuel filter on this engine? I think I am missing the filter housing.

    Thanks,

    Pat

If you go back to when Cummins released there first “B” series engine in the mid 80’s , they built a part into the head to accept an on-engine fuel filter.. Even thougt not used in all applications, the head still has that base design as part of it………………. Look at a current 6BT and the earlier 6BTA’s.. .. It’s really not used in your application.

Thanks but I actually just found the filter housing the other day however on the left side of the cylinder head just forward of the crankcase breather, there looks like there is a built in spin on housing. Attached is a picture.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Pat

Look at the pic.. Most are mounted this way..

Got a engine serial number? There are quite a few variations for this engine as to plumbing, etc….
