I ordered some new hoses from Seaboard to change out old ones while I was performing maintenance on the aftercooler and heat exchanger. All the hoses are good except I am having trouble getting the 0.75″ expansion tank coolant hose (item #10 from website) on the lower fitting. It fits the top fitting fine. I’v tried dishsoap and also heating the hose with hot water but cannot get it more than maybe a 1/4″ on.

Are there any tips or tricks to try?

    Engine is a 6BTA 370 hp.

    Thanks

    Rob,

That’s the right one. I finally got it with a heat gun. I called Seaboard and Brandon said that is a 7/8″ fitting from the factory.

    This hose/fitting?
Can you share some pics of what you are dealing with? Any chance someone changed out that lower fitting from the stock one? Heat and lube, as you have already tried, is the usual ticket..
