    Hello All,

Ran the 370 @ WOT for a few minutes running into the harbor yesterday.
The engine is propped to “3250” rpms WOT with the boat heavy.
Running a SMX 160F Tstat and SMX EGT gauge/sensor kit.

Monitoring EGT is a great way to keep an eye on “engine load” for us mechanical marine diesel engine owners.

Running at the pin, EGTs never get above 800F !

Tony engineered the gearing and propping.

A ReCon 370 is “the best bang for the buck” in the 6BT/BTA family of engines. This engine is my fifth.

Under propping is so important to long engine life.

Just the opposite of pulling a trailer up hill ….. I was going to say you’re boat is always “going down hill” but that didn’t sound quite right! She’s a happy engine no doubt.. and set up like that she will out live all of our interests in boating.
