    Hello Tony and Cummins friends!

Would like to know if somebody did such test,or knows exact procedure how to determine if engine is still in good shape. Oil sampling results are fine, nothing to worry about, but skipper did notice excesive “blow by” from rocker cover breather hose to Airsep filter.

    Thank you for reply!

    Hello Rob!

Engine has Airsep filter, insert changed regularly, but because in Europe we can’t get new inserts,we need to roder them from States, they are expensive and not practical to have it on marine engine here in Meditereinan.

Engine has now 10570 hours, mainteinance done acording to Cummins list each season with aftercooler, heat exchanger clean ups,new turbo was installed few years ago, like more or less 3500 hours ago.

Mainteinance was done by marine service company where i was working and i know this boat quite well.

Oil in pan is always more to maximum level then lower, and oil was Shell 15w40 always inside.

Is there airsep 100% as to being cleaned and serviced?
How much oil in the pan? Does the stick read closer to high or closer to low?
How pitched or flat does the engine sit/run?
    Engine hours?
    Any interesting engine history?
Any install pics and pics of what the skipper noticed?
