As part of an earlier overheat troubleshooting process my injectors were changed for a set that were on board, and apparently rebuilt, but with no documentation. The tips were all shiny, and the upper injector ‘body’ painted white. The mech doing the work didn’t use new copper seals, he heated the old ones up and installed them. Most of them leaked as a result. We have since replaced all the copper seals and the injector return line with new factory parts, and we still have diesel leaks at three of the injectors. the leaks appear to be coming from the mating surface of the injector body and the copper ‘clip’ where it mates.
What are we doing wrong? The mech says that he has tightened the return bolts properly, about 10 inch pounds of torque, and that the 10MM bolts are hollow and delicate. Should we try tightening them with a bit more force?
