George you may want to elaborate a little on your engines. QSB5.9 380 What CPL? What make and model boat are they in? You are in FL so do they sit in Salt Water all of the time or do you have a fresh water flush system? I see that you are a new member to the site. Have you read about the preventive maint regimen that is prescribed by Seaboard?

How hard have your engines been run? Give us an idea of Fuel burn at your cruise RPM range 2200 – 2600. There may be some other things to consider before looking at the valves, top end etc…. Also some nice High Res pics of the engine, engine room and exhaust setup will be very helpful.

There is a wealth of information and discussion on this site about those engines. I recommend doing a little reading about the Prop Loading, Water Pumps, After Coolers, CCV and Fresh Water Flush. I am sure that the others will chime in here and point out some other things.
