    • Heat Exchanger Cleaning on Seakeeper Gyro

This topic has 1 reply, has 2 voices, and was last updated byTony Athens 1 year ago

January 24, 2023 at 1:20 pm My QSB coolers go to a radiator shop for pressure testing and cleaning, so I had always wondered how my heat exchanger for the Seakeeper Gyro heat exchanger was doing. I ended up buying a second heat exchanger that I put on, and will swap it out with the original every few years. Overall, the tubes looked good, no blockage. I am going to cut new end cap gaskets and clean this one up. So my question, what would you suggest to clean the internals …

January 19, 2023 at 8:52 pm I was replacing the impeller on my seaboard water pumps (QSB5.9) and bumped the plastic connector for the Fuel Control Actuator and broke it off.  Is that an easy swap or is there high fuel pressure behind it?   Thanks Matt

January 17, 2023 at 4:11 pm Could I get your advice to deal with bilge water in a 25 Farallon straight shaft. Any of your products or technical solutions? Would a thru-hull (the flange type with threaded collar nut and threaded plug) garboard drain work if installed close to keel  between rudder  base and strut? Considering the prop turbulence, but this is the low area. Trailer boat that I would like to be able to more easily wash out the bilge when pulled out. Current gar…

Because you trailer your boat, consider doing what most smaller outboard powered  boats do. Put a rubber expansion plug/kit behind the rudder post thru the transom.. I have 3 of these on my Carolina skiff.. IMO simple and perfectly safe. Installing a bronze thru hull with a threaded plug might be mor…

I assume this is a breather tube of some sort. I have some smoke coming out this tube, not a lot but it is noticeable. Is this normal? Should there be something attached to the tube? Thanks, Darryll

December 22, 2022 at 6:32 pm IMO T2 is very close to ETA T3 and I pretty certain that a “visit” would pose NO ISSUE.  As to trying to register the boat in a given state  after purchase,  I am also fairly certain this is on a state by state basis,,.. You would probably have to get a company that specializes in that to get you current. I live in Calif and the rules are changing as I write.
