IMO, the idea was good, but!!Ā  After I saw few failures, I cut one up and it was obvious what the engineerĀ  was fixated on and he missed it big-time .. January 27, 2022 at 1:10 pm I need to remove the harmonic balancer on my 6BTA and in order to lock up the crank I bought a barring tool.Ā  The problem is, I can’t find the port to use this tool.Ā  I’ve read that it’s behind/below the aftercooler, and I did find a port where I removed the cover and all I found was the smooth surface of the flywheel.Ā  No teeth there so the barring tool won’t work.Ā  I’m I looking in the wrong spot?

January 25, 2022 at 2:38 pm Just curious to know of proper muffler sizing for my 6bt 210hp Cummins motors, engines I pulled out had 4ā€ centek mufflers and exhaust piping. Would this size muffler be too small for what I have setup now or is the back pressure too much? Iā€™ve read that sometimes holes are drilled in the fore and aft baffles to help with the flow. Total system is roughly 7-8 feet long at the max. Iā€™ll post a few photos of the old and new setups. As of now Iā€™m running straight pipes out of the transom with a surge chambers.Ā
